no-nofollow-dofollow1If you are doing some kind of link building or trying to get backlink for your site , it is very important to know what is doFollow and noFollow link.This is a very important point to understand before you get top ranking on google.These topics are little difficult to understand but I will try  to break it down and make it simple to understand for you.

Now for example if you generally create a link like WebmasterdailyTips with html code like

<a href=”http://webmasterdailytips.com”>Webmasterdailytips</a>  Its a default dofollow link

So basically to make a link dofoolow you need not to do anything.Do you know you can tell search engine whether to include these link while indexing your site or not.It means it your wish whether search engine will include these link while crawling your site.But you must be wondering why I should request search engine to not include this link while crawling or indexing.It has some reason, I will tell you that but first let see how to… stop search engine to stop crawling some links.

You just need to add this piece of code in html code

rel=”nofollow”

It will look like in html as…

<a href=”http://webmasterdailytips.com” rel=”nofollow”>Webmasterdailytips</a> Its a nofollow link

Why it is important?

when you are using different method to bring traffic or backlink to your site, you are leaving your site link in different blog or site.It is necessary to know whether the place where you are leaving link is dofollow or not.If it is not still its a good idea to leave your link there(as it will give you some traffic to your site), but it won’t help to increase your search engine ranking as yiur backlink will not be counted.You can very well use source code view of that page to check its dofollow link or not.

So now here is the big question, why you want to hide certain link from search engine or maake it nofollow?

  • paid link: If you are keeping some link to your site as paid link, just to increase page link for other blog or link exchange.google may not like it may penalize you.
  • Comment section of your blog: Its by default as nofollow as people may try to spam your comment section as to get important backlink.
  • Linking to major site: When you linking your site to major site like google.com,msn.com,faves.com,digg.com etc. as they are already popular, so you may use nofollow as it does not make any difference to them.

So I hope ths post will help ypu understand more on dofollow and nofollow link.please use comment section to raise any query or share your idea with others.
